Requiring the collection of high-resolution data for plunger lifts, a client sought assistance in transitioning their SCADA system to technologies capable of capturing detailed information without overloading their radio network. Modern IoT technologies, such as the MQTT protocol and store-and-forward, offer cost savings by reducing network utilization while ensuring reliable data capture.
Leveraging expertise in these technologies, Colexas Digital was tasked with leading a team to implement these changes across a large oil and gas field in the Permian Basin. The project required coordination between field teams and SCADA personnel to implement programmatic and integration changes both within automation systems and Cygnet. These updates enabled the aggregation of highly detailed plunger lift data, empowering teams downstream of the process to better understand field operation and optimize production.
